Health Service Fees

We charge a Health Service Fee to all clients eligible to pay.
Your first visit is free.

The fee is a small contribution towards the cost of services provided and is a set amount per 28 day billing period. All fees collected are used by RDNS to expand and improve services to our clients.

This Health Service fee can be waived for any client who is unable to afford it. If you believe you are not able to afford to pay the Health Service fee please ring us on 1300 364 264. Our Fee Waiver Enquiry Officer will help you with information about our fee waiver guidelines and can also assist you to complete a fee waiver application. 

The fees are:

  • $25 per 28 day billing period for pensioner concession card or health care card holders, self funded retirees and other people on low incomes
  • $50 per 28 day billing period for other clients

Please note that:

  • We only charge one person in the household if we are visiting more than one person of the same family at the same address
  • You do not pay this fee if you are eligible for free nursing care paid for by the Department of Veterans'  Affairs, or if you receive services paid for under contract arrangements RDNS has with other organisations
  • The fee is a set amount and is not based on the number of services you receive
  • We charge the fee for services provided at any location (home, nursing centre, school etc.)
  • The 28 day billing period is set and does not start from the date of a client's admission or first visit
  • The fee will be increased automatically in line with Consumer Price Index (CPI) increases at 6 monthly intervals

Fees can be paid:

  • at any Australia Post Office or agency
  • by mail in the envelope provided with your invoice
  • by phone on credit card, 24 hours
  • by direct debit from an account

If you have private health insurance please check with your insurer if your policy will cover any refunds for RDNS services

The fee is the the same whether services are received during the day, at night, on weekends, or public holidays.

RDNS Health Service fees are GST free.
