About Us

Formed in 1894, The Royal District Nursing Service (SA) Inc – RDNS – is a not for profit, non government home and community nursing organisation.

We offer:

  • RDNS Nursing Services - specialising in wound and diabetes management, palliative care, continence promotion, health care for people with disabilities, HIV- AIDS, dementia and mental health.
  • RDNS DIRECT - a 24 hour Health Contact Centre.
  • RDNS Home Support Services – personal care and domestic assistance.
  • RDNS Home Monitoring – personal emergency alarms.
  • Occupational Therapy Home Services - facilitating safety and independence.
  • The RDNS Research Unit  -  internationally recognised for its research projects in chronic illness management.
  • RDNS Education Centre - a Registered Training Organisation providing courses for  care workers, registered and enrolled nurses as well as on site education and Master Classes in specialist areas of community health.
  • Focus Healthcare - delivering quality nursing care to veterans, insured and private patients on a fee for service basis.

The RDNS Foundation purchases vehicles, provides nursing education and supports Nursing Research.  The Foundation relies on community support in the form of donations, volunteering and bequests.
